J&K teachers threaten to go on strike on PC arrear issue
All Jammu Kashmir Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) today threatened to go on a hunger strike if the government fails to meet their demands, including the grant of sixth pay commission arrears.
"We will launch an agitation and will go on hunger strike if the government fails to grant us the sixth pay commission arrears," Bhushan Verma, president AJKLTF, said.
The governments in other states and at the centre had already paid the 6th pay commission arrears to its employees, but they were "still waiting for grant of arrears," he said.
"We do not agree to the roadmap of grant of arrears by the state government in piece-meal," he said on the J&K government's announcement for the grant of arrears in a phased manner.
